Oculus Rift is a name well-known within technophiles and gamers. A piece of eye wear that can transform your living room into a battlefield, put you right in the middle of your favourite movie, or let you explore scenery you never thought that you’d get to see from the comfort of your sofa.

The headset is adjustable meaning that you can make it fit your head perfectly, get maximum comfort from the device, and ensure that it won’t slip and move around as you react to the situations around you. Virtual reality is taking off, and Oculus Rift ensured they were at the forefront of that movement and ensured theirs was a name people would recognise.

Weighing around a pound, the headset isn’t too heavy to keep on for a long period of time and doesn’t weigh you down as you use it. It doesn’t distract from the sensations that you’re feeling and the sense of presence that you get when you’re locked into a game. Thanks to the technology that was involved in it’s crafting, the VR device lets you feel like you’re actually a part of what is happening around you, lets you feel new sensations and experiences.

With it’s positional tracking, you can use the Rift no matter if you’re sitting, standing or moving around. It’ll respond to how you’re moving, or where you are and let you experience a new angle within the game in response. You also don’t need to worry about controlling the device once you’re locked into a game. You are provided with a remote that responds to your touch. You can navigate menus, return home, all without having to disconnect from the actual device.

Turning your head changes your perspective. The Oculus Rift comes with a 110 degree view field, meaning that you are able to see to both sides and look around with ease, as you would in normal life. With all these features and additions, being within the virtual reality world will feel just as natural as being in your own world, and potentially much more exciting.

Not only does your sight allow for you to feel immersed, the device has integrated audio, allowing for every sense to be heightened within your game or movie, and letting the sound fully envelope you and capture your attention.

It connects easily to a computer, but it is recommended to have a higher spec device in order to get the most out of your Oculus Rift and ensure you’re getting the best view that you can get.

Not only is the headset compatible with PC gaming, but also with the Xbox One, and the original item comes with a remote and wireless adapter so that it’s easy to set up and get right to having your first experience.
